What is Kizomba?
Kizomba is a style of music and dance that was formed in Angola in the 1980s and other Portuguese speaking countries with French, African and Latin influences. Kizomba consists of traditional Semba with influences of French Caribbean Zouk in the music. Connection and comfort is particularly fundamental to the enjoyment of the dance. The dance requires a close embrace and is danced on the tempo of the music occasionally using syncopated steps. This tempo can be described as the pulse of the music and requires a strong connection with the music. Come learn why it is one of the fastest spreading dances, now common in almost every large city in the world. It’s never how it looks that concerns Kizomba dancers, it is how it FEELS! Join the dance family in VIVA and Auckland!!!!
